Frankie Darro, Mantan Moreland and Keye Luke in the tale of a college rowing team. It seems that the new guy and hope for the team to win the state championship has been drafted. Not wanting to let the girls down the boys end up getting a guy off the street to pretend to be the great new rower at a party. Unfortunately now that "Herc" has a taste for college life he won't leave and now its up to the guys to get him through classes and to make him into a great rower.

Popular movie,
Gale Storm and Keye Luke raise this one to 4 stars. Mantan Moreland almost brings it the rest of the way to 5 full stars.

Aw gee, Biff! We're gonna miss the big game!
No better and no worse than many of the college comedies of the '30s and early '40s, of which there seemed to have been dozens. Frankie Darrow keeps the overacting under control, for a change. As always, Mantan Moreland makes the most of his part, and as usual has the best one-liners. Gale Storm has a subordinate role, but she looks pretty and does get to sing two numbers. Keye Luke appears as a wisecracking frat boy. Some of the comedy works, but this is no "Animal House." If I hadn't been in a good mood, I probably would have given this campus quickie two stars.
